Why We Rebranded: From PotshotPrints3D to Potshot's

You might’ve noticed a small (but mighty) change around here. We’ve officially rebranded from PotshotPrints3D to just Potshot's—shorter, cleaner, easier to say, and more reflective of who we are now.

So, why the change?

1. It was a mouthful.

Let’s be honest—PotshotPrints3D was never the easiest name to say. Over the years we’ve heard all sorts: “Pots Hot Prints,” “PotplantPrinters,” and the classic “Potshotprintthingy.” We get it. It was clunky. You shouldn’t need a pronunciation guide just to tell your mates where you got your cool dice tower from.

2. We’ve outgrown the name.

PotshotPrints3D made sense when we first started—it described exactly what we did: 3D printing, mostly terrain for tabletop games. But now? We’re so much more than that. We've expanded into:

• Official Dungeons & Dragons products

• Painting supplies from brands like The Army Painter

• Trading card games like Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering

And that’s just the beginning. The name needed to grow with us—and Potshot’s felt right.

That said, we didn’t want to completely abandon our old name. Potshot has always been the part that mattered most—it’s where we started, and it’s what connects us to the tabletop roots that built this whole thing. So we kept the bit that was most important to us, and we hope you’ll agree it still feels like home.

3. It brings us back to our roots.

The name Potshot isn’t just random. It goes way back to when I was about 9 or 10, playing Warhammer 40K with my uncle. I barely knew the rules, but somehow I ended up controlling a sniper unit. We spent the evening laughing as I kept “taking potshots” and somehow landing them. It became a bit of a running joke—and the name stuck with me.

So when the idea of a business selling terrain popped up years later, Potshot was the obvious choice. It’s fun, personal, and grounded in the same hobby world we now proudly serve.

What’s next?

The name might be shorter, but nothing else is shrinking. We’ve got big plans. More models, more games, more ways to enjoy the hobbies we all love.
